Chicken Pox

Clinical Features:

• Rash within 24 hours papule ,vesicles,pustule&crust

Investigations:

• CBC 

Rx:

Supporting & symptomatic treatment:

• Diet:Normal 
  
•  More Fluid 
  

If fever:

 Syp.Napa (Paracetamol)(120mg/5 ml) 

Dose: 15mg/kg/dose ...3/4 times daily.......3-5 days (if temp present)

• 5-8 kg = 4ml - 5ml 
• 8-11 kg = 5-7ml 
• 12-16 kg= 10 ml /2 TSF 

যদি চুকানি/pruritus থাকে 

1. Syrp.Xyril(Hydroxyzine)(10mg/5ml)

• 1-2 years: 2 ml .........3 times ...daily
• 3-6 years: 3-5 ml .......3 times ...daily
• 7-10 years: 5 ml .....3 times ....daily

2. Togent ointment

• চুলকানির জায়গায় দিনে ৩ বার...৩-৫ দিন

3.  Cold compressions & regular bathing

Specific treatment:

Syrp.Virux(Acyclovir)(200mg/5ml)

• (20mg/kg/dose)...6 hrly for 5 days 
  

if  2ndry infection:

Syrp.Flux(Flucloxacillin) (125mg/5ml) 

• 15 mg/kg/dose....6 hrly

Prevention:

• Varicella vaccine দিতে হবে at 12 month single dose
  
• আক্রান্ত বাচ্চা থেকে অন্য বাচ্চা আলাদা রাখতে হবে। upto 6 th days of rash.
