Measles
Protocols
Clinical Features:
Prodromal stage (3-4 days):
- Fever
- Cough
- Red Eye
- Runny nose(Coryza)
- Koplik"s spot (buccal mucosa againest upper 2nd molar teeth)
Exanthematous(6-7 days):
- Maculopapular rash appear 4th of day of fever
- Rash start behind the ear then extremities next 3-4 days
Convalescence stage:
- Rash fades
Investigations:
- CBC : Leukopenia with absolute lyphopenia
- if cough : x-ray chest
Rx:
- Symptomatic & supportive
- Diet: Oily food & more protein খেতে হবে।
- প্রচুর পানি খেতে হবে।
if Fever:
Syp.Napa (Paracetamol)(120mg/5 ml)
Dose: 15mg/kg/dose ...3/4 times
daily.......3-5 days (if temp present)
- 5-8 kg = 4ml -
5ml
- 8-11 kg =
5-7ml
- 12-16 kg= 10 ml /2 TSF
6-12 months:
Cap. Retinal forte(100000IU)
- Day -1 & Day -2
>12 months:
Cap. Retinal forte(200000IU)
- Day -1 & Day -2
Xerophthalmia/Malnutrition:
Cap. Retinal forte(200000IU)
- Day -1 &Day -2
- 3rd dose- 2 weeks after 1st dose
If eye symptom:
Iventi(moxifloxacin) eye drop
- 1 Drop each eye..... 6 hourly.....7 days
If Cough:
- Lemon juice
- Tulsi leaf juice
- warm water
if secondary infection:
- Proper antibiotics
prevention:
- বাচ্চাকে MR/MMR vaccin. দিতে হবে।
- বাসায় কোন বাচ্চার হলে তাকে অন্য বাচ্চা থেকে আইসোলেসনে রাখতে হবে। (Rash উঠার ৪ দিন আগে ও ৪ দিন পরে)
