Burn/Scald

Burn/Scald/ electric burn:

🔆Rx:

• Diet: High protein diet
  

1. inf.H/S (% of burnt area× wt in kg× 4)

• Half of calculated fluid given within 8 hrs,, rest half in next 16 hrs.

2.  Inj. Ceftron(1gm)(Ceftriaxone)

• 1vial I/V ...........BD

3. Cap.Flucloxacillin (500mg)

• 1+1+1+1.....7 days

4. Inj.ketorolac (30 mg)(Ket)

• 1 amp I/V stat & BD

5. Inj.Sergel (40mg)(Esomeprazole)

• 1 vial I/V ......... BD

6. Inj emistat (8 mg/4ml)(Ondansetron)

• 1 amp I/V SOS (if vomiting)

7. Inj. Nalbun 2(Nalbuphine)

• 1 amp I/V  stat & SOS(if severe pain)

8. Burna cream+ 2% lidocaine gelly

• Apply locally over affected area except face 8 hrly(if burn)

9. Bactrocin ointment(mupirocin)

• Apply on face 8 hrly

Advice:

• immediately get the person away from the heat source to stop the burning.
  
• cool the burn with cool or lukewarm running water for 20 minutes – do not use ice, iced water, or any creams or greasy substances like butter.
