Snake Bite

Protocols

🐍 Snake bite:( non - poisonous)

Investigation:

  • Liver function Test 
  • Serum Creatinine
  • Bed Side Blood Clotting Test 
  • CBC 
  • CPK 

Rx:

  • NPO- TFO


1. Inf. 5% DNS (1L) + N/S (1L) +5% DA (1L)

  • IV @ 30 d/min

2.  Inj. Ceftron(1gm)(Ceftriaxone)

  • 1vial I/V ...........BD

3. Inj.Sergel (40mg)(Esomeprazole)

  • 1 vial I/V ......... BD

4. Inj.TT vax

  • 1 vial I/M stat

5. Inj.TIG

  • 1 vial I/M stat

6. Crep bandage(Distal to poximal)

7.  Immobilisation of bitten part

Clinical Features:


🐍Snake bite poisonous:

1. Above treatment 

+(plus)

2. Inj.polyvalent anti. venom (10 vial)

  • Each vial dilute with 10 cc D- water mixed with 100 ml N/S
  • I/V @40-60 drop/ min over 1 hour

3. Inj.Adrenaline (1mg/ml)

  • 2 amp (✔ must be available at the time of administration of anti venom)


Advice For Doctors :

  • 20 min whole blood coagulation test
  • If blood clots after 20 min-- non poisonous
  • If blood doesn't clot after 20 min-- poisonous
