Acute Tonsillitis
Protocols
Clinical Features:
- Swollen tonsils
- Sore throat
- Difficulty swallowing
- Tender lymph nodes on the sides of the neck
- Fever
investigation:
- CBC
- Throat swab for c/s
- ASO titre
Rx:
1. Tab. Cefotil(Cefuroxime ) (500mg)
- 1+0+1......7 days
2. Tab. Esonix(esomeprazol) (20mg)
- 1+0+1....... 7 days (30 min before meal)
3. Tab. Napa Extend (665mg)(paracetamol)
- 1+1+1......3-5 days
4.1% Viodin(Povidone Iodine) mouth wash
- 2 tsf mixed with 10 ml water ther gargle 3-4 times daily (২ চামচ Viodin + ½ গ্লাস পানিতে মিশিয়ে গড়গড়া করবেন দিনে ৩-৪ বার)
5.Tab.Cevit(250mg) (ascorbic acid)
- 1+0+1…..10 days
Advice:
- ঠান্ডা খাবার খাবেন না।
- অতিরিক্ত শক্ত খাবার খাবেন না।
- কুসুম গরম পানি পান করুন।
- Get lots of rest.
- Drink warm or very cold fluids to help with throat pain.
- Eat smooth foods, such as flavored gelatins, ice cream, and applesauce.
- Use a cool-mist vaporizer or humidifier in your room.
- Gargle with warm salt water.
- Suck on lozenges with benzocaine or other medications to numb your throat.
