Epididymo-Orchitis

Protocols

Clinical Features:

·       A swollen, discolored or warm scrotum.

·       Testicle pain and tenderness, usually on one side, that often comes on slowly.

·       Pain when you pass urine.

·       An urgent or frequent need to urinate.

·       Discharge from the penis.

·       Pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen or pelvic area.

·       Blood in the semen.

·       Less commonly, fever.



 Investigation:

  • CBC 
  • USG of Scrotum 

Rx:

If Bacterial orchitis: 

Cap.Doxicap(100mg)(Doxycycline)

  • 1+0+1.......14 days

OR

Tab.Ciprocin(500mg) (Ciprofloxacin)

  • 1+0+1......10 days

if Pain:

1.  Tab.Inflam(400mg) (Ibuprofen)

  • 1+0+1(ভরাপেটে)......3-5 days

OR

Tab.Naprosyn(500mg) (Naproxen)

  • 1+0+1(ভরাপেটে)......3-5 days 

2.  Tab.Finix(20mg) (Rabeprazole)

  • 1+0+1.......15 days


উপদেশঃ

  • Rest in bed
  • Lie down so that your scrotum is elevated
  • Apply cold packs to your scrotum as tolerated
  • Avoid lifting heavy objects
