Post Partum Haemorrhage(PPH)

Protocols

Clinical Features:

  • 1)Uncontrolled bleeding.
  • 2)Decreased blood pressure.
  • 3)Increased heart rate.
  • 4)Decrease in the red blood cell count.
  • 5)Swelling and pain in the vagina and nearby area if bleeding is from a hematoma.


Investigations:

  • 1)Usg of L/A
  • 2)Hb%
  • 3)blood grouping & Rh typing 

📋Rx:

  • Diet: NPO-TFO
  • Continuous catheterization

1. Inf Hartsol (1L) + 4 amp piton

  • I/V @30 d/min

2. Inf.Plasmasol (500ml)

  • I/V @20d/min

3. Inj.ceftriaxone(Oricef/ceftron) (1 gm) 

  • 1 vial I/V stat & bd

4.Inj.metronidazole (Filmet/Metro)(500mg)

  • 1 bottle I/V stat & tds

5.Inj.Esomeprazole(Maxpro/sergel) (40 mg)

  • 1 vial I/V stat & bd

6. Inj.Tranexamic acid(Xamic/Traxyl) (500mg)

  • 1 amp I/v stat & TDS

7. Inj.metharspan

  • 1 amp I/M stat & TDs

If abdominal pain

Inj.Tiemonium methylsulfat(viset/algin) 

  • 1 amp I/M stat & TDS

Tab.cytomis (200mcg)

  • 4 tab P/R stat & sos

If Anaemia :

  • Need Fresh human blood
