Polycythaemia Rubra Vera

Clinical Features:

• 1)Itchiness, especially after a warm bath or shower.
• 2)Numbness, tingling, burning, or weakness in your hands, feet, arms or legs.
• 3)A feeling of fullness soon after eating and bloating or pain in your left upper abdomen due to an enlarged spleen.
• 4)Unusual bleeding, such as a nosebleed or bleeding gums.

Face: Plethoric Face(see the photo)

O/E: Spleenomegaly 

Investigations:

1) CBC :

• Male- HCT >0.52
• Female - HCT >0.48

Rx: 

1.Tab.Aspirin(Carva/Ecosprin) 75 mg

2.Cap.Hydroxyurea(mylostat/Hydronix) 500mg

• 1+0+0...….........continue

Note:

• প্রতি ৫-৭ দিন পর পর 400-500 ml Blood Remove করবো যতক্ষন পর্যন্ত না HCT 45% এর নিচে হয়।
