Clinical Features:
Hyponatraemia:
- Normal limit:Na+: 135-145 mmol/L
If Na+:125-135 mmol/L-Mild
Rx:
সারা দিনে ১ চামচ লবন খাবেন ….3-5 দিন
Or
Tab.Nacl 1+1+1...7 দিন (upto normal electrolyt)
If Na+ 110-125 mmol/L(Modarate)
Rx:
Example:
Observed Na+ = 118 mmol/l, weight = 15kg
Formula of Na deficit = 0.6 X Weight X (125-118) , Target Na+ level =125 mmol/L( Fixed)
= 0.6X 15 X 7
= 63 mmol
Correction fluid = 3% Nacl
Total Correction fluid = 2 X 63 = 126 ml (double amount)
Note :
- 3% Nacl per 100ml =51mmol Na+,
- 63 mmol Na+ need= 126ml 3%Nacl
126 ml 3% Nacl over 2 hours
Maintance fluid:
5% DNS daily required fluid .
Advice: Serum electrolyte after 6 hours of correction
If Na+:less then 110 mmol/L(Severe)
Inf 3% NS ...i/v
🚫 Referred the Pt...treatment in ICU
Advice:
- Educate yourself.
- Take precautions during high-intensity activities.
- Consider drinking sports beverages during demanding activities.
- Drink water in moderation.
