Acute Hepatitis

Protocols

Clinical Features:
  • 1)fever
  • 2)malaise
  • 3)fatigue
  • 4)loss of appetite 5)vomiting
  • 6)diarrhea and 
  • 7)abdominal pain.


Investigation:
  • 1)Serum bilirubin-increase
  • 2)SGPT-increase([post id="101" title="SGPT/ALT"])
  • 3)PT
  • 4)USG of W/A([post id="271" title="Acute-Hepatitis usg"])
  • 5)HBsAg 
  • 6)ANTI-HCV
  • 7) INR ratio ([post id="110" title="International-Normalized-Ratio"])
  • 8) [post id="107" title="Serum-Albumin"]

Rx:

  • Complete Bed Rest
  • Diet: Normal(no extra fat & extra protein)
  • Adequate fluid (Water & Fruits juice)
  • Avoid some drus like-sediatives,NSAIDS,Alcohol
  • There is no specific treanment,its self limiting.
Treatment of complication:

1. Cap. Maxpro ([post id="392" title="Esomeprazole"])(20mg) 1+০+1 ( 30 min before meal)......10 days

2.  Tab. Motigut([post id="465" title="Domperidone"]) (10mg) 1+1+1( before meal)......10 days

 If pain 

  • Tab. Viset ([post id="451" title="Tiemonium"])(50mg) 1+1+1 (if pain- after meal)
if constipation-
  • Syp:D-lac([post id="515" title="Lactulose"] )-2-4 TSF Three times daily 

if feature deep jundice / biliary cholestasis(itching & steatorrhoea) then ....

1+0+1.........10-15 days


Note:contra-indicated drugs

  • 1)any sediatives & hypnotics
  • 2)emistat
  • 3)diuretics
  • 4)NSAIDS
  • 5)Anti-depressents
  • 6)IM imjections 


Advice:
  • Vaccinations for your friends and family. 
  • Say NO! to smoking, drugs or alcoholic drinks.
  • Exercise, but move with caution. 
  • Pay attention to your emotions.
  • Practice safe sex.
  • Cover any open cuts. 
  • Ask about antiviral therapy.
