Clinical Features:

  • 4)Loss of appetite
  • 5)Night sweats
  • 6)Sputum (a mixture of saliva and mucus) with pus that’s often sour-tasting, foul-smelling, or streaked with blood
  • 7)Weight loss

  • 1)CXR ([post id="222" title="X-ray-Lungs-Abscess"])
  • 2)CBC
  • 3)Sputum for gram staining and C/S
  • 4)CT Scan of chest


Rx:

1. Bed rest

2. Diet-Normal

3.Tab.Clacido([post id="425" title="Amoxicillin+Clavulanic-Acid"]) (625 mg) 1+1+1….7 days


4. Tab.[post id="406" title="Metronidazole"]( Filmet) (400mg) 1+1+1....1 month



5.Tab.Esonix([post id="392" title="Esomeprazole"])(20 mg)

1+0+1....10 days

6.Tab. Santogen(Multivitamin) 0+o+1...2 month


If pain/Fever:

Tab.Napa([post id="449" title="Paracetamol"])(500mg)

1+1+1....5-7 days


If severe:

💉Inj.Oricef([post id="398" title="Ceftriaxone"]) (2gm) 1 vial I/V- daily...7 days


💉Inj.Filmet([post id="406" title="Metronidazole"]) -1 bottle i/v- TDS


If not response:
  • Antibiotic according to C/S
  • USG guided percutaneous aspiration
  • Postural drainage 
  • Physiotherapy
