Clinical Features:
  • A burning sensation in your chest (heartburn), usually after eating,which might be worse at night or while lying down.
  • Backwash (regurgitation) of food or sour liquid.
  • Upper abdominal or chest pain.
  • Trouble swallowing (dysphagia)
  • Sensation of a lump in your throat.

Atypical Presentation:

  • Belching
  • Bloating 
  • Dyspepsia 
  • Epigastric pain 


Extra-esophageal presentation: 
  • Cough 
  • Hoarseness
  • Dental erosion 




Investigation:

1. Upper GI endoscopy 

2.24 hour esophageal pH monitoring

3. Esophageal manometry 


🏮Rx:

1.Diet: Soft & liquid

  • Small proetin 
  • Eat atlest 3 hours before bed Time
  • Avoid Bevarage foods 

2. Recommendation 

  • Weiht reduction -if patient obse 
  • Elevate the head in the bed (25 degree) to reduce night symptoms 
    Avoid teggaring factors - Like somking .

3. Tab. Esonix ([post id="392" title="Esomeprazole"]) (20mg) ১+০+১....15 days( 30 min before meal)

4.Tab. Motigut ([post id="465" title="Domperidone"]) (10mg)..১+১+১ (before meal)...10 days

5. Tab.Beklo([post id="473" title="Baclofen"])(10mg) 1+0+1...7 days

6. Syp/Tab. Maganta plus 2 tsf* 3times….1 month(after meal)

7. Tab.Esita ([post id="487" title="Escitalopram"])(10mg) 1+0+0….1 month




Advice:
  • Maintain a healthy weight.
  • Stop smoking. 
  • Elevate the head of your bed. 
  • Don't lie down after a meal. 
  • Eat food slowly and chew thoroughly.
  • Avoid foods and drinks that trigger reflux.
  • Avoid tight-fitting clothing.
