7.Gonorrhoea/Urethritis

Clinical Features :
- 1)frequent or urgent need to urinate.
- 2)difficulty starting urination.
- 3)itching, pain or discomfort when not urinating.
- 4)pain during sex.
- 5)vaginal or urethral discharge.
- 6)abdominal and pelvic pain.
- 7)fever and chills.
Investigations:
- 1)Urine R/M/E& C/S
- 2)nucleic acid amplification (NAAT) testing:-- NAAT testing detects the genetic material (DNA) of the gonorrhea bacteria and is considered the optimal test for gonorrhea infection.
- 3)Swab of affected area. A swab of your throat, urethra, vagina or rectum can collect bacteria that can be identified in a lab.
Rx: (Nice Guideline)
1)Inj.Oricef(ceftriaxone) (1gm)
- 1vial IM stat
2)Tab.Zimax (Azithrimycin) 500mg
- 2 tab stat
or
Cap .Doxicap (Doxycycline)(100mg)
- 1+0+1...........7 days
Suppliment for better health:(not guideline)
Tab. Santogen(mutivitamin)
- ১+০+০........1 month
Speial note for partner:
- Treatment same protocol
If sign&symptoms is persistent after treatment :
- Swab sent for microscopy & C/S (> 72 hours after complete antibiotic therapy)
if again persistent sign&symptoms :
- Refer for specialist
Advice:
- স্বামী- স্ত্রী ২ জনই Antibioticখাবেন।
- অযাচিত যৌন মিলন করা যাবেনা
- যৌন মিলনের সময় কনডম ব্যবহার করবেন।
