35. Hand Foot mouth Disease(HFMD)
Protocols
Clinical Feature:
- Fever
- Rash
- Blister hand & foot
- Oral ulcer
Cause: coxsackie viruse
D/D:
- Scabies
- Gianotti crosti syndrome
Treatment : Mostly conservative mx
🗒️Rx:
1. Syrup. Furotil ([post id="400" title="Cefuroxime"])(125mg/5ml)(To prevent 2ndry infection)
20mg/kg/day ....2 times ....7 days
Average dose: ➡6-12 month:১/২ চামচ ২বার ➡1-3 year: ১ চামচ ২ বার ➡4-5 years: 1.5 চামচ ২ বার |
2. Syrup. Sinamin ([post id="531" title="Chlorpheniramine"])( (2mg/5ml)
Average dose: ➡6-12 month:১/২ চামচ ২ বার ➡1-5 year: ১ চামচ ২ বার ➡6-10 years: 1.5 চামচ ২ বার |
3. If Fever :
Syrup.Napa ([post id="449" title="Paracetamol"])(120mg/5ml)
15 mg/kg/dose ............6 hourly
4. If itching :
Togent cream([post id="611" title="Diphenhydramine"]) ....apply 3/4 times locally ...7 days
Advice:
🕹Wash your hands with soap and water often.
🕹Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.
🕹Avoid close contact with anyone who has HFMD.
