Clinical Feature:
1.Age onset usually 10-35years
2.Oval patchy lesion that's called "HERALD PATCH"
3."Fir Tree" pattern.
4.Site involved Back(other possible site chest, face).
5.This is acute onset,short duration history.
DX:
Pityriasis Rosea/Christmas tree rash
CAUSE:Exact cause unkown
.
D/D:
- Guttate psoriasis
- Tinea corporis
Treatment of Pityriasis Rosa:
1.Topical Steroid like
Betaderm ([post id="539" title="Betamethasone"])ointment/Facid BT ([post id="540" title="Facid"])cream
- 2 times daily 2-4 weeks
Or,
Topical A mycin([post id="432" title="Erythromycin"]) lotion
- 2 times daily 2-4 weeks
2.Tab Fexo([post id="541" title="Fexofenadine"]) 120mg
- 0+0+1........7-10 days
Or
Tab. Rupa ([post id="542" title="Rupatadine"])10mg.
- 0+0+1 2-4 weeks
If severe itching:
Add, Calamine ([post id="532" title="Calamine"]) lotion
- 2-3 times daily
If not responsive add oral erythromycin like
Tab.Eromycin ([post id="432" title="Erythromycin"]) DS 500mg
- 1+0+1 ......14 days
3.Emolient([post id="543" title="Emolent"])
- 2-3 times daily
4.in extensive case: UVB([post id="544" title="click"]) photo therapy
5.Follow up after ....14 days.
